Getting away from it all

Getting away from it all

I feel the need to run. Complacency has run its course and the need to experience is clawing its way in. I need to disappear. Completely.

I don't want to be selfish, though that's what everyone will see it as. I'm not trying to escape my people, never. I want to escape "the way things are". I don't hate, if anything, I love too much. We only get a taste of life, and I'll be damned if it isn't the greediest taste ever had. I don't want to exist in the problems of the greater. Yes I'm sympathetic. Yes I'll listen. Yes I'll help when asked. But, I'm just me, small and inconsequential. And that's okay, that is me and this life is mine.

Nature is beautiful. My phone poisons me. Adventure is out there. Modern life is a shackle. The gift of life bestowed should not be mocked.

There comes a point where the things laid at your feet are no longer serving you.

That is the moment.

Take a deep breath, smell the things around you. Note how they make you feel. Build up the courage (This is where I'm at) and leave it all. Not forever, and don't burn bridges. People will see it as selfish… it is. Take this shit by the reins and steer it into a "better" you.

I need time away from it all. I need to learn to see the beauty in the benign again. I'm sorry to those who will feel hurt from the way I conduct myself. But, I need this. No more constantly filling my head with conversation. No more outlets for pure laziness. I need to leave the enclosure. I need to open my eyes.

Life is passing us by. Will we take the time to appreciate it, or will we blink?
